研究领域和现状

1. 树枝形高分子的二区域模型理论
  树枝形高分子是一种新型的高分子材料,由于其具有低粘度和高流变性能等独特的物理化学特性,使其在流变添加剂、生物材料、纳米材料、医药载体和基因工程等领域都得到了广泛应用。然而,树枝形高分子特性粘度的反常行为很难用现有理论模型描述,这对传统理论提出了重大挑战。我们提出了Zimm和Rouse模型相结合的二区域模型,推导了特性粘度的理论公式,定量预测了树枝形高分子特性粘度随聚合度变化的非单调关系;阐述了树枝形高分子特性粘度的物理本质,即:特性粘度反映了其携带溶剂能力的大小;指出了特性粘度极大值对应着该“代数”树枝形高分子具有最大的携带溶剂能力。这一发现对树枝形高分子在药物和活性物质输运等领域应用具有重要的理论指导意义。
  2. Rod-Coil嵌段共聚物微相分离
  由于Rod-Coil嵌段共聚物的刚性嵌段可以由具有共轭-键的刚性单元组成,同时又能通过其独特的自组装形成高度有序的凝聚态结构,因此,在新型光电显示器件领域具有广泛的应用前景。但是,Rod-Coil嵌段共聚物的微相分离,除受到不同化学组成嵌段之间不相容性的驱动外,还受到刚性嵌段几何排列各向异性的影响,而后者恰恰是其具有独特微相分离行为和自组装结构的物理根源。由于刚性嵌段间相互作用和各向异性很难处理,这方面理论和模拟研究远远落后于实验。我们发展了一套格子自洽场理论,提出了二步松弛新策略,解决了格子自洽场计算收敛慢的问题,有效提高了模拟计算效率,从而建立了能够处理Rod-Coil嵌段共聚物的格子自洽场模拟方法;第一次在三维空间中研究了Rod-Coil嵌段共聚物的微相分离和自组装行为,计算了其有序-有序转变相图;分子尺度上预测了刚性嵌段在其微相分离区域的优先排列方式,热力学上阐明了刚性嵌段优先排列的物理本质。
  3. 高分子物理凝胶化机理
  高分子物理凝胶具有独特而复杂的微观结构、转变行为和流变性能,使其成为当今新型功能与智能材料和分子生物学等领域的研究前沿。然而,由于分子链特性、溶剂性质与尺寸、分子间特殊相互作用等直接影响物理凝胶化机理、结构、性能与功能等,因此,物理凝胶化机理、凝胶态结构、环境响应机制等的物理本质认识就成为该领域研究焦点和国际性难题。我们通过引入晶格平移不变性原理,结合逾渗理论,建立了一套计算效率高、能够有效描述分子链拓扑结构与刚性、溶剂性质与尺寸、分子间特殊相互作用饱和性和方向性的八位置键涨落格子Monte Carlo模拟方法。阐述了物理凝胶化为桥型链和环形链之间竞争的微观机理;明晰了溶剂尺寸对物理凝胶化机理影响的物理本质是熵驱动;引入束缚溶剂的概念,揭示了温度诱导的物理溶胶-凝胶转变和凝胶-溶胶转变行为的微观机制;分子水平上描述了分子链刚性和极性基团饱和度对物理凝胶化机理影响的本质。
  4. 高分子薄膜相分离与去润湿机理
  高分子薄膜在传感器、表面防护和光电器件等领域都有广泛应用,结构与性能调控一直是其研究的核心。但是,与其相关的一些低维凝聚态物理基本问题(如:准二维相分离、去润湿及其耦合等)仍没有根本解决。我们建立了温控原子力显微镜和温控X-光电子能谱方法,第一次在正空间原位观测到高分子混合物薄膜的表面相分离动力学过程;实验上证明了组成涨落诱导去润湿机理,提出了“先去润湿,然后相分离和润湿同时发生”的新机理,阐释了去润湿快于相分离的新现象。提出了“穿透取代”新机理,阐明了非溶剂诱导高分子薄膜去润湿行为的本质;率先研究了三层以上薄膜的去润湿行为,阐述了接触角和沟槽之间相互竞争是导致变形基底加速去润湿这一新现象的源动力,揭示了变形基底减慢双层膜去润湿的普遍规律无法推广到多层膜体系的物理根源。提出了嵌段共聚物薄膜无序-有序转变存在临界膜厚的新观点。
  5. 高分子材料制备-结构-性能相关性的有限元分析
  高分子及其复合材料制备过程通常处于非等温、非等压和复杂流动状态,同时伴随着粘滞耗散与化学反应等热效应和交联与降解等复杂化学反应,致使同一时刻(或空间位置)、不同空间位置(或时刻)处于不同制备条件,导致材料结构的非均匀性,严重影响其使用性能。由于制备过程的复杂性和现有研究方法的局限性,虽然国内外诸多学者都致力于该问题的研究,但并没有取得实质性进展。我们在有限元分析中引入随机过程,同时结合增量理论、反应统计理论、化学流变学等多学科知识,针对高分子材料的化学凝胶化、聚烯烃反应挤出和长纤维高分子复合材料液态模塑成型等具有代表性的材料制备过程,成功地开发了高分子材料制备的有限元模拟仿真优化设计软件系统,定量揭示了材料制备-结构-性能的相关性和规律性。
